Our story.

Enrico Mandelli Spa: a century of Italian tradition.

History is in the tailoring, Elegance in the gesture, Italy in every detail.

Some companies are born from an intuition, others from a culture. Ours is the fruit of a sartorial vision, carefully cultivated on the shores of Lake Como since the early 1900s, where nature is harmony, history is art, and time moves with the slow, precise pace of an Italy that has made beauty its mother tongue. And it was precisely on “That branch of Lake Como, which turns towards the south, between two unbroken chains of mountains…” (Manzoni - The Betrothed) that the Mandelli Family was born, and in the early 20th century, laid the foundations of a dream.

1900

Enrico Mandelli

It was great-grandfather Mandelli who first felt that the landscape of Lake Como, with its calm water, gentle hills, and enchanting light, deserved an elegance equal to its beauty.
It wasn't yet a brand, it wasn't yet fashion; it was just a surname that, thanks to that man's dedication, keen intuition, and stubbornness, soon led him to be known in the world of Italian fashion.
His hands learned from time, and his eyes could see far, very far.
And so, the idea was born to build a sartorial identity capable of reflecting the soul of the place, of those villages made of authenticity, elegance, history, and deep roots.

1925

Paolo Mandelli

His son Paolo joined his father in 1925, and thanks to his creative and entrepreneurial mind, he led the company to expand throughout Italy. There are stories and companies that don't follow time, but define it.
In fact, Paolo dedicated his entire life to expanding the company together with his wife Ermelinda, producing outerwear with increasingly precious and modern materials. Paolo was the true vanguard for the Mandelli lineage: in 1954 Paolo gave concrete form to that idea, officially founding Enrico Mandelli Spa in honor of his father.
Then his son Enrico also joined him, bringing intuition to the heart of Italy, developing high-profile men's and women's clothing collections, with a sober, decisive and strongly identifiable style.

1954

Emme Spa

During the 1950s, national development was so rapid that in 1954 Paolo and Ermelinda Mandelli founded Emme Spa, the future Enrico Mandelli Spa

1960

Enrico Mandelli

In 1960, Enrico, Paolo's son, joined the company, officially marking the third generation. Growth was gradual but unstoppable.
Thanks to an entrepreneurial vision founded on respect for Italian artisanal tradition, the brand established itself first nationally, then internationally, as a symbol of elegance, sobriety, and discreet luxury. The company created a strong identity of Italian craftsmanship that, from the 1960s onwards, naturally attracted the most famous fashion designers to forge valid, innovative, and creative collaborations.
Thanks to Enrico, the company at that time achieved very high production levels in terms of quality in the manufacturing of increasingly sought-after sportswear using fine materials and noble fibers, such as cashmere, combined with the most refined leather. This led the company to such success that in subsequent years, Enrico Mandelli Spa was considered the best outerwear manufacturer in Italy.
In 1964, Enrico married Rachele, and together they participated in the diffusion of the Mandelli brand, forming many collaborations with various world-renowned designers.

1970

Synergies with High Fashion

A season of prestigious synergies with the great masters of Italian design is beginning.
The first fundamental collaboration features Walter Albini, universally recognized as the father of prêt-à-porter.

1978

The Prêt-à-Porter Revolution

The strategic partnership signed with Basile represents a historic milestone for the entire sector: Enrico Mandelli Spa becomes the first industrial reality capable of producing luxury ready-to-wear collections, intended for both male and female audiences.

1982

The partnership between flair and craftsmanship

The famous partnership with Franco Moschino begins. The designer's unmistakable creative flair finds perfect execution in Mandelli's high-quality craftsmanship, giving rise to a professional relationship and a deep bond of friendship that would last for over a decade.

1990

International prestige

The company's international prestige is further enhanced by its collaboration with Dolce & Gabbana. Enrico Mandelli Spa obtains the exclusive worldwide license for the creation of all the Maison's leather garments.

1996

Andrea Maria Mandelli

Since 1996, Enrico's son, Andrea Maria, the fourth generation, has served as CEO. After earning a degree and an MBA, he contributed to the development of Italian artisanal excellence in the global market. Andrea's contribution has been fundamental and decisive: he has constantly updated and innovated company technologies to meet the increasingly demanding requests of clients, collaborating with the most prestigious stores worldwide. Andrea has guided the company into the exclusive world of Luxury, proudly presenting men's collections that are a fusion of historical craftsmanship and contemporary sensibility.
Collections that speak the language of understatement: true refinement does not need to shout, but is recognized in the perfect cut, the softness of cashmere, the full hand of fine wools, and the balance of proportions. Each garment is a style choice, but also an act of trust in quality that lasts over time.
With Andrea, we returned to the places of the Mandelli family, to those villages where his grandfather was born, his father studied, and where a great company has been able to tell a story of style, where every detail is a gesture and every moment is an emotion: a know-how that is a trophy for Italian elegance and true Made in Italy.

2000

An Italian experience, a collection to wear

Enrico Mandelli S.P.A. presents an ever-expanding collection of garments made with fine fibres, rare fabrics, and precious leathers, the result of a constant pursuit of the highest quality. These are garments that speak the language of eternity: designed to last, to be worn naturally, to accompany a man in the most authentic moments of his life.
The jackets have a sporty, sartorial character. The car coats evoke the city, dynamism, and precision. The down jackets are warm yet light, reminiscent of the sheer mountain peaks overlooking the lake so dear to the Mandelli family.
The blousons are perfect for a day on a boat or for leisure.

2007

Milan Model

Launch of the first model designed by Mandelli staff in the apparel market: the "Milano" model, now an icon of the Mandelli brand.
A garment designed for a man who doesn't need to prove himself, but simply to be.
A sartorial excellence that doesn't shout, but whispers its value with composure and harmony.

2012

His Majesty:

The Mandelli Crocodile

Mandelli introduces the world's thinnest crocodile leather, at 0.4 mm, into the luxury market. This leather is used to produce exclusive and highly prestigious garments.
A silent and timeless protagonist now in the Mandelli collection.
A patented leather, extremely thin, extraordinarily light, and soft, treated like a unique and precious fabric. From this iconic material come shirts, bomber jackets, bags, and jackets that dress men from all over the world: actors, entrepreneurs, presidents, and also those who simply love the quality of authentic luxury.
Mandelli does not follow trends: it transcends them, defining its own style.

2015

New Showroom

Opening of a new headquarters at Via Santo Spirito 14 in Milan, in the Via Montenapoleone district: the famous Fashion Quad.
A space of over 400 square meters where one can experience discreet, timeless luxury in a classic ancient Milanese building where the stones speak of history and the walls of art and respect for refined elegance. Andrea's wife, Chiara, who has been by his side since 2011, is responsible for the renovation.
Together they are leading a family business with the respect and devotion of those who founded this empire a century before.
Family is the engine, heart, and strength of life.
The secret of Enrico Mandelli Spa lies precisely in its deep origins and the tradition passed down from father to son.

2017

Mandelli Total Look

Mandelli also became a famous brand for the production of an exclusive total-look.
A sartorial excellence that whispers its value with composure and harmony.
The Mandelli total look is a journey through time and space: it is an invitation to travel to the heart of Italian tailoring.
From the snow-capped Alps to the shores of Lake Como, from the Mandelli boutique in via della Spiga to the 5-star hotels hidden in the gardens of period villas.
In a fast-paced era, Mandelli chooses to pause and meticulously craft every step, every stitch, every button, selecting only the finest, with slowness, attention, and love—the foundations that distinguish true Made in Italy.
And while the world changes, Mandelli remains true to itself, knowing it can afford to because it has deep roots in Italian sartorial tradition and believes that true progress can only come from a great history and a great love, that of the Mandelli family.

2021

Mandelli continues its international growth path, consolidating the brand's presence through the opening of new monobrand boutiques in key foreign markets.
The expansion continues in line with the company's philosophy: combining craftsmanship, innovation, and uncompromising quality, while preserving an identity that has represented the excellence of Made in Italy for over seventy years.
